Young Men 4 Christ (YM4C) is a Detroit-based gospel quartet ministry founded in 2012 with a mission to lead listeners into heartfelt praise & worship. Through music, ministry, and live performances, they continue to spread the gospel to all ages.

What makes you the Next Music Star?
What makes us the Next Music Star is our ability to honor the foundation of traditional quartet gospel while bringing our own sound, energy, personality, and presentation to today’s generation. We believe great music should do more than entertain—it should make people feel something, give them hope, and leave an impact long after the performance is over. Our journey has taken us from local churches and community events to major gospel stages, award nominations, industry events, and the recording of our live project, Kept Through It All: Live in Detroit. Every opportunity has strengthened our determination to keep growing without forgetting why we started. Our story is right there in the title Kept Through It All. Through every challenge, transition, disappointment, victory, and open door, God has kept us together and kept the ministry moving forward.
What do you love about music and performing?
We love the connection that music creates. There is something special about walking onto a stage and watching a song connect with people from different backgrounds, generations, and walks of life. When someone sings along, gets on their feet, sheds a tear, worships, or tells us afterward that a song encouraged them through a difficult season, that’s when we know our purpose is bigger than simply performing. Performing gives us an opportunity to share our personalities, brotherhood, energy, musicianship, and faith all at once. We love the live band, the harmonies, the call-and-response, and especially that unmistakable energy of quartet gospel music. But our favorite moments aren’t necessarily the loudest ones. They’re the moments when you can see that the message of a song has reached somebody. For Young Men 4 Christ, the stage isn’t just a platform—it’s an opportunity to minister, inspire, entertain, and create a moment people will remember.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
Our musical foundation comes from the legendary artists and groups who built gospel and quartet music and showed generations of singers how powerful this music can be. Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC’s are a major inspiration because of the simplicity, sincerity, and power of their music. Lee Williams demonstrated that you don’t need gimmicks when the message is genuine. His music continues to connect with audiences well beyond his lifetime, which represents the kind of lasting impact we want our music to have. Our dream collaborations would bridge traditional gospel, contemporary gospel, R&B, and today’s musical culture. We would love to collaborate with artists who respect where gospel music came from while being willing to create something fresh. Ultimately, a dream collaboration for YM4C isn’t just about how famous someone’s name is. It’s about creating a record that feels authentic, reaches beyond our normal audience, and introduces another generation to the power and soul of g
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
Winning the $10,000 grand prize would be an investment into the next chapter of Young Men 4 Christ. We would use the funds strategically to expand the reach of our music and ministry—particularly through professional marketing and promotion, visual content, digital advertising, media and PR opportunities, and the continued development of the Young Men 4 Christ brand. A portion of the prize would support the promotion of our current music, including Kept Through It All: Live in Detroit, while helping us reach audiences outside of traditional gospel spaces. We would also invest in future recordings and high-quality visual content that represents YM4C at the level we’re working toward. Most importantly, we wouldn’t view the $10,000 simply as prize money. We would view it as seed money. We would plant it into the vision we’ve been building for more than a decade—taking Young Men 4 Christ, our music, our testimony, and the legacy
