What makes you the Next Music Star?
I’m Raelynne, a 13-year-old Filipino American singer-songwriter with a soulful voice and a love for pop, rock, and blues. I sing, play piano and guitar, and write songs from my own experiences. My debut single, “Look What You Lost,” comes out October 30, and sharing something I created is a huge step toward my dream. From performing at House of Blues Anaheim to sharing my originals, every experience makes me want to work harder. I’m still learning and discovering my sound, but I bring heart, energy, and determination to every stage. I want to make music people connect with and inspire other kids to believe their voices matter, too.
What do you love about music and performing?
I love how music can say what’s hard to explain in a conversation. Whether I’m writing a song, playing piano in my room, or singing with my band, it gives me a way to express myself. Performing takes that feeling even further—I get to share it with other people. Seeing someone stop to listen, sing along, or smile is such a special feeling. I love the quiet acoustic moments just as much as the loud rock songs. Every performance teaches me something, and even when I get nervous, the excitement of sharing music makes me want to do it again.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
My biggest inspirations are Chappell Roan and Adele. I love Chappell’s creativity, confidence, and how she expresses herself through her music and performances. Adele inspires me with her powerful, soulful voice and the emotion she brings to every song. They both make me want to keep developing my voice and writing songs that mean something to me. Collaborating with either of them would be a dream! I’d love to write with Adele and learn from her storytelling, or share a stage with Chappell and bring that kind of energy to a performance.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
I would use the $10,000 to record and release more of my original songs. Hearing a song grow from an idea at my piano into a finished recording has been one of the most exciting parts of my journey, and I have more songs I want to share! I’d also invest in vocal training and music lessons to keep growing as a singer, songwriter, and musician. My family has supported me so much, and I’d be proud to help cover some of those costs. At 13, I’m just getting started, and this prize would help me take the next steps toward doing what I love.
