What makes you the Next Music Star?
I'm not sure what makes me the Next Music Star. I think it's something that I wish everyone could be because everyone deserves to have their dreams come true. I don't know if there's anything about me that inherently makes me more deserving over anyone else in this competition. What I do know is I love music and how it brings people together and I would love a chance to share my voice and my talent with as many people as possible. Because I do know I have talent, and I do think there's people out there that would resonate with it and being the Next Music Star would help me to. find those people.
What do you love about music and performing?
What I love about music and performing is many things. I love the blending of the harmonies, the beat of the music, and just the atmosphere of a room of people coming together and singing. Music is so beautiful, powerful and so universal in transcends language barriers. I really enjoy how it connects people as a whole.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
My biggest music inspirations would be: Chole Bailey, Halle Bailey, Raye, and Ruth B. It would be my dream to collaborate with any of these beautiful women. Their ability to create music that really move their audience while delivering incredible powerful and beautiful vocals is something I deeply admire.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
I would use a portion of the proceeds to support my nonprofit, Operation Kanpe, and send kids in Haiti to school and provide them with nutrition and education as well as start a small scholarship fund for Haitian American students here in the U.S.. I would also take my family on vacation. And finally I would use the money to further my dreams and aspirations in music, in my EMS career, and other endeavors.
