What makes you the Next Music Star?
I've been at this since 2015, writing my own songs and DJing clubs in Portland and Vancouver, learning what actually moves a room. My song "(Over)thinking" took off because people heard themselves in it and started reaching out. That's what I bring: honest songs and the ability to hold a crowd. I'm ready for a bigger stage.
What do you love about music and performing?
Writing is how I make sense of my life. Performing is where it stops being just mine. As a DJ I get to read a room in real time and feel the moment a crowd lets go. As a songwriter I get messages saying a song said what someone couldn't. Both come down to connection.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
Stevie Nicks for storytelling and stage presence. Noah Kahan and Sienna Spiro for writing that's specific and unguarded. Olivia Dean for the emotion she brings. Dream collab: Stevie Nicks because she's my biggest inspiration, the hardships, the limerance people had for her and the emotion she brings to the stage is truly what I admire.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
Straight back into the music: studio time and mixing for my next release, a real music video, and upgraded live gear so I can take the show beyond the Northwest.
