What makes you the Next Music Star?
I’m Psway, an independent artist, entrepreneur, and founder of Swaylin Records. My mom helped start my musical journey when she got me a producer for Christmas at age 14. Today, I’m building my music and my brands on my own terms. I bring originality, determination, and a vision that goes beyond one song. My latest release, “Fly Away” featuring Temeka Williams, represents another step forward. I’m not waiting for someone to build my future. I’m putting in the work to create it.
What do you love about music and performing?
Music gives me a way to express things that everyday conversation can’t always capture. I love taking an idea or a feeling and turning it into something another person can connect with. Performing brings that connection to life. It’s a chance to share my energy, tell my story, and give people a moment they can carry with them. Whether someone comes to celebrate or needs encouragement, I want my music to leave them feeling something.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
India Arie, Marvin Gaye, and Devin the Dude are a few of my biggest musical inspirations. I admire the soul, honesty, and individuality they bring to their music. They inspire me to stay true to my own voice and make songs people can feel. My dream collaborators would be artists who share that same authenticity and passion, whether they’re established names or independent voices. I want to create something meaningful where we each bring our own style and push one another creatively.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
I would invest the $10,000 back into my music through professional recording, mixing and mastering, strong visuals, and focused promotion. I’d use it to give my next releases a stronger foundation and reach more listeners while continuing to build Swaylin Records. My goal would be to turn that opportunity into lasting progress, not just one big moment.
