What makes you the Next Music Star?
We believe what makes us the Next Music Star is our willingness to be real. We don't hide the ugly parts of life. We turn our pain, trauma, struggles, and inner demons into songs that people can feel, cry, and heal to. We're not trying to pretend we have everything figured out. Just five humans chasing a dream and creating something that reminds people they're not alone. If our music can make someone feel seen while we're chasing our own dreams, then we're already becoming what we hope to be.
What do you love about music and performing?
What we love most about music is the connection it creates. We take our pain, our struggles, our traumas, and the things we sometimes have a hard time saying out loud, and turn them into songs that people can feel and relate to. There’s something incredible about performing those songs live and realizing that we’re not the only ones who have felt these things. We’ve had people tell us that our music has helped them through some of the hardest times in their lives, and that means everything to us. For us, performing isn’t just about getting on stage and playing music. It’s about creating a moment where everyone in the room can feel something, let their guard down, and know that they aren’t alone. That connection between us, the music, and the people listening is what keeps us chasing this dream. When someone tells you that your music saved their life...that...that's why we do this!!!
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
Our influences come from a pretty wide range of rock and modern music. Vocally, we pull a lot from the Swancore scene and modern pop, especially when it comes to melodic, emotional vocal lines and catchy hooks. Musically, our guitar work is heavily influenced by bands like Breaking Benjamin, The Story So Far, Tool, and the alternative and rock sounds of the 90s. We love combining heavier guitar tones and interesting instrumentation with strong melodies and memorable vocals. Those influences come together to create our own sound. We take pieces from the music that shaped us and mix them with our own experiences, emotions, and stories to create something that feels like Nectar Collector.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
If we won $10,000, we would put it straight back into Nectar Collector. We’re serious about growing this band and taking it to the next level. We’d invest in better and more professional merch, upgrade our stage and band image, and purchase an in-ear monitoring system to improve our live performances. We’d also finally record and release our album, Royal Jelly, which we’ve been working on for the last six years. 😂 We wouldn’t see the $10,000 as prize money to spend. We’d see it as an opportunity to invest in the future of Nectar Collector, finish the music we’ve been building for years, and turn this dream into something bigger.
