What makes you the Next Music Star?

I think I could be the Next Music Star because I make music for the people listening. I mix old genres and styles with new ones to make something for everyone. My first album is a bit all over the place but I did that so there's something for everyone. Life is too nuanced to stick to one genre or vibe. I create music so I can capture a memory or feeling, so that I can go back to it whenever I need. I'm tragically nostalgic and music allows me to move on while still preserving something that was or is so important to me. I want my music to bring people together, I want it to feel like an old friend. When I perform any song I want to connect with anyone who cares enough to watch me. I'm always ready to perform and there's something about performing live that just makes the music so much more special. I hope to bring something new to the table and I hope people can find a piece of their soul in my music.

What do you love about music and performing?

Music is what feelings sound like. Whenever I feel any emotion I always turn to music. It has always been so familiar to me. It makes me feel comfortable, it makes me look at my mistakes when I'm in the wrong, it allows me to feel all the emotions that people are told to keep down, to understand what I'm going through and that I'm not alone. I've never been popular and I can't even talk to my class without going red and stuttering after every other word. When I get on stage though, no matter how big the audience is ,or whether they like me or not, any fear or anxiety I ever felt just goes away. I'm most comfortable when I'm on stage ever since I was a kid. The teachers knew me as the shy kid but when I had a microphone and an audience it was like I was a whole new person. Performing lets me be the fun person I want to be all the time. I wear crazy outfits and I dance like no one is there and I feel every note. I don't do it just to entertain others I do it for me.

Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?

My biggest inspirations are mix of classic rock and the pop-rock music I grew up listening to. Avril Lavigne and Hayley Williams are huge ones for me because they have such recognizable sounds and always stay true to themselves. I also love Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, and Heart because their voices are so unique and powerful and you can feel every word. I love how much personality they put into their performance. People like Simple plan and Shania Twain inspire me so much because of their backstories and they remind me of myself and all the troubles I go through to continue doing what I love. I take inspiration from so many different artists like Boston, Led Zeppelin, Elvis, Tears for Fears, and even Olivia Rodrigo or Chappell Roan. More than anything I want to take what I love about them and turn it into something unique for my generation.

What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?

If I won the grand price I would put the money towards my music and college so I can continue to do what I love. I would also give my parents and band a share because they have helped me through this journey and I promised I would make up for all the time and energy they put into helping my dream come true.
