What makes you the Next Music Star?
What makes us the next music star is our collaborative passion for music, my soulful voice, and my ability to connect with people through a song. I'm not just interested in singing notes; I want people to feel something when they hear me perform. As Lady Jae, I bring emotion, personality, and authenticity to the music I perform alongside Rik, an incredible writer and musician. My love for R&B and soul runs deep, and I'm ready for the opportunity to share my voice with a bigger audience. I believe my experience, dedication, and genuine love for performing make me a unique artist with a story worth hearing.
What do you love about music and performing?
What we love most about music and performing is the connection it creates between people. Music can take you back to a memory, help you through a difficult time, or make you feel understood without saying a word. As a singer, there's nothing like standing in front of an audience and feeling that connection when people respond to your voice and the emotion behind a song. We love bringing R&B and soul to life, creating moments people remember long after the performance ends.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
I'm inspired by the timeless voices and storytelling of R&B and soul legends like Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston, and Gladys Knight. These women showed the world that a powerful voice is about more than hitting the right notes—it's about emotion, authenticity, and making people believe every word you sing. I admire artists who can tell a story through music and connect with audiences across generations. My dream is to collaborate with talented artists, songwriters, and musicians who share that passion for creating meaningful music. Working with Rik is already a special part of my journey, and I'd love to continue growing that creative partnership while reaching new audiences.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
We would invest the $10,000 into growing Lady Jae and Rik and taking our music to the next level. That would include recording and producing new music, creating professional promotional content, and investing in marketing to reach a wider audience. I'd also put resources toward live performance opportunities and building connections that could open doors for us in the music industry. Rik's songwriting and musicianship, combined with my vocals, give us a foundation we're excited to keep building on. Winning would be more than a financial prize—it would be an opportunity to invest in our dream, expand our reach, and bring our music to people who haven't discovered us yet. I'd use it as a stepping stone toward a lasting musical journey.
