What makes you the Next Music Star?
I believe what makes me the Next Music Star is that I refuse to be put into one box. I’m Key2Eden, an artist from Texas who blends country, hip-hop, country rap, pop, and Afrobeat into my own sound. I can tell a story from the dirt under my nails, turn pain into a melody, and still make music that makes people want to ride, dance, sing, or turn up. I’m not trying to become a copy of someone who came before me. I’m building an identity people can recognize the moment they hear my voice. My goal is to bring different cultures, sounds, and experiences together while staying true to where I come from.I believe the next music star has to be more than someone who can make a song. They have to have a story, a vision, personality, work ethic, and the ability to connect with people. I’m still building, but I know exactly where I’m going. I want people to hear Key2Eden and feel like they discovered something they’ve never heard before.
What do you love about music and performing?
What I love most about music is that it gives me a way to say things that I sometimes can’t explain in a normal conversation. A song can turn a memory into something people can feel. It can take pain, love, struggle, confidence, faith, or a simple moment in life and turn it into something that lasts forever. I love performing because that’s when the music becomes bigger than me. There is something powerful about standing in front of people and watching them connect with words that came from my own life. I want people to sing my lyrics back to me, feel something in their chest, and leave the show feeling like they experienced a story instead of just watching a performance. Music also gives me freedom. I don’t have to choose between country, hip-hop, pop, or Afrobeat. I can create whatever I feel. That’s what makes being an artist exciting to me. I get to keep discovering new sides of myself and invite other people into that journey.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
My biggest inspirations come from artists who have proven that you can create your own lane instead of simply following one. I’m inspired by artists like Shaboozey, Beyoncé, Drake, Chris Stapleton, Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, Post Malone, and J. Cole because each of them has shown a different level of songwriting, individuality, performance, and ability to connect with an audience. I’m especially inspired by artists who can cross genres without losing who they are. That’s something I want to represent with Key2Eden. My dream collaborations would include Shaboozey, Post Malone, Beyoncé, Drake, Chris Stapleton, Bruno Mars, and J. Cole, but I’m also excited about working with artists people may not know yet. I don’t just want collaborations for the name—I want to create moments where two completely different worlds come together and make something people didn’t know they needed.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
If I won the $10,000, I would put the majority of it directly into building my music career and creating opportunities that continue beyond the competition. I would invest in professional recording, mixing and mastering, music videos, visual content, marketing, and promotion so I can put my music in front of more people. I would also use part of the money to build a stronger creative foundation around Key2Eden—developing my brand, creating high-quality content, and preparing music that can compete on a larger level. Most importantly, I wouldn’t look at the $10,000 as money to spend; I would look at it as fuel. My goal is to turn that opportunity into more songs, more performances, more connections, and more chances to reach people. Winning would mean more than receiving a check. It would mean someone believed in what I’m building. I would make sure that belief showed up in the work.
