What makes you the Next Music Star?
I believe I’m the Next Music Star because I’ve built my career the old-fashioned way—one song, one stage, and one fan at a time. I’ve spent years on the road, playing more than 1,000 shows and building a loyal fanbase from the Pacific Northwest to Nashville and beyond. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to share stages with artists like Zach Top, Chris Janson, Joe Nichols and Trace Adkins, and recently experienced an unforgettable career moment at the Grand Ole Opry when I was named Emerging Artist of the Year at the Josie Music Awards. But what makes me different isn’t just the résumé. My music lives somewhere between country, rock, blues and Americana—what I call the Eclectic Outlaw sound. I’m not trying to become somebody else’s version of an artist. I know who I am, I’ve put in the miles to prove it, and I believe the next chapter of my career is just getting started.
What do you love about music and performing?
For me, music has always been about connection. There’s nothing like looking out from a stage and seeing a room full of strangers singing the same song, dancing together, or forgetting about everything else for a few minutes. I love that every show is different. Whether I’m playing solo acoustic for a small room or stepping onto a big stage with my band, I get the opportunity to create a moment that people can take home with them. Some nights it’s a song that means something to somebody; other nights it’s simply giving them a reason to cut loose and have a great time. After more than 1,000 performances, I still get excited to walk onto a stage. That’s how I know this is exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
My biggest musical inspirations come from artists who have always felt authentic and unmistakably themselves. Eric Church, Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley, Waylon Jennings, Cody Jinks and Travis Tritt have all influenced the country and outlaw side of my music, while Alabama showed me how big melodies and harmonies can connect with generations of fans. James Taylor and John Mayer have influenced my songwriting, musicianship and the way a song can stand on its own with just a voice and guitar. And then there’s AC/DC, whose raw energy and live show have always inspired the rock side of what I do. My dream collaborations would be with Eric Church, Cody Jinks or John Mayer—artists who aren't afraid to push outside the boundaries of a genre. I’ve always wanted my music to live somewhere between country, rock, outlaw and singer-songwriter, and each of these artists has helped shape that in some way.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
I would invest every dollar back into my music career. I’ve spent years building this independently—from recording and releasing original music to touring and growing a fanbase one show at a time. Winning $10,000 would allow me to take the next step without slowing down. The money would go directly toward recording and producing new original music in Nashville, along with professional marketing, promotion and content to make sure those songs reach beyond the audiences I’ve already built. For an independent artist, $10,000 isn’t just prize money—it’s studio time, musicians, production, promotion and an opportunity to reach people who haven’t discovered my music yet. I’ve already built the foundation. I would use this prize to build on that momentum and turn the next release into the biggest one of my career.
