What makes you the Next Music Star?
I'm the Next Music Star because not only am I a talented singer & songwriter, but I have a unique and powerful story that has the potential to positively impact and bring together millions of people from around the world. All my music is about healing from the pain of being the family scapegoat, and that is something that is rarely ever talked about in society. Not only do I make good bops and do pop music (something we don't see a lot of in the mainstream from women who look like me), but there is a deeper layer of substance and depth to my music that is going to help so many people feel less alone. 3 years ago I went viral on TikTok after sharing my story with the world, and I gained over 100K followers from just 1 video that got 14M views. That right there shows how many people out there felt seen by my story and I know they will all deeply connect to and appreciate my music. I believe it is my destiny to be The Next Music Star and I'm excited to be a voice for other Cycle Breakers!
What do you love about music and performing?
What I love about music is it's a language that unites people from all over the world no matter their race, age, nationality, identity, or status. It is a healing medicine that can alchemize even the most dark and painful traumas into something beautiful. I also love that music helps you feel seen and understood in a way nothing else can. What I love about performing is the experience of being seen, being in the spotlight, shining bright, and inspiring others through doing what I love. I have always said that I love to sing because it feels like flying, and I look forward to soaring to new heights through this life-changing opportunity!
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
My biggest inspirations.. omg so many! Well #1 would be Aaliyah. When I said in my bio that I've known since I was 7 years old that I wanted to be a pop star, that is because that was the age I was when I first saw her music video on TV for "Are You That Somebody." I'll never forget that moment-- it completely changed my life, awakened my dream, and set me on a journey that I've been on ever since. My other major inspiration would be Christina Aguilera. I've always loved her voice and her album "Stripped" literally helped keep me alive at times when I was a teenager. I also really loved Britney Spears, Mya, Ashanti, JoJo, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey. My dream collaborators, producer wise, would be Max Martin and Timbaland. And my dream artists to collab with are Tyla, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Billie Eilish!
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
I will ;) finish recording my debut album and shoot a music video for my debut single! I'll also hire a team to take my YouTube series, "Diary of A Future Pop Princess," to the next level!
