What makes you the Next Music Star?
I have a unique and compelling sound that stands out amongst the pool that we have today. I approach my artistry and music making with passion, curiosity, vulnerability, and the mission to create the most authentic and raw music that comes from my inner and outer life experiences. I have the sound, stage presence, grit, gratitude, engagement, and love for music. I am an artist through and through and there is no other career that would allow my greatest attributes and strengths to shine through. I was made for this.
What do you love about music and performing?
I love how liberated and empowered I feel doing what I love with people I love. It is an honor to be able to do what I love most in front of people who love what I do most.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
My biggest music inspiration is the 90s band Broadcast. I draw major inspiration from Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth and Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins as well. Sonically I am deeply inspired by the new wave and dark wave eras of the 80s and well as 90s grunge. Modern day artists that inspire me are Fontaines D.C., Automatic, and Lana Del Rey. I would absolutely love to work with James Blake, Bowery Electric, Drab Majesty, and Massive Attack.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
Pay off my small amount of debt. I would give some of it to my Mom, Sister and Grandmother. I would then put the rest of it in a savings account to further invest in my music journey as an independent artist.
