What makes you the Next Music Star?
We bring a fresh perspective to a beloved genre by blending the raw, driving energy of alternative rock with the rhythmic and melodic traditions of our Greek heritage. While acoustic rock relies on storytelling and emotion, injecting it with Mediterranean influences with the bouzouki creates a sound that is nostalgic, uplifting and entirely new. We are bridging cultures and showing that rock music can still evolve, bringing a passionate, global heartbeat to the modern alternative scene.
What do you love about music and performing?
We love the impact and power that music can have. It facilitates such a strong connection between artists and listeners. It has the power to transport you back in time, to make people feel something and is meaningful. Making someone feel something from our music is what we love most. We love the energy that builds in the room when performing, it hits down in our core and there's nothing like it. Coming from a Greek background, community and gathering are in our blood. We treat our live performances like a massive, welcoming celebration. There is nothing quite like the rush of feeling a crowd connect with a vulnerable lyric or a driving rhythm in real time.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
Our sound is deeply rooted in the golden era of alternative rock and pop-punk, with Blink-182 serving as a massive influence. We grew up listening to them, they are amazing songwriters and performers. It would be a dream come true to collaborate with them in some way. We would also be ecstatic to work with Paramore, Goo Goo Dolls and Dave Matthews Band. We are huge fans of their work and songwriting as well. On the production side, we dream of working with legends who defined the alt-rock genre: Butch Vig, Rob Cavallo, and Will Yip. They have worked on some of our favorite records and their impact on the music world cannot be overstated. We also would like to give an honorary mention to Jerry Finn. Though no longer with us, his work with Blink-182 and across pop punk is one of the most important for the genre. Collaborating with master songwriters like Ryan Tedder, Rob Thomas, and Robert Smith would be the ultimate honor. Their work has heavily influenced us our entire lives.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
Most of the money from the grand prize would be seed funding to elevate our band to the next level. We would allocate a portion to recording our debut album in a professional studio, allowing us to properly capture the nuances of our acoustic-Greek rock fusion. We would also upgrade our live touring rig, we are in need of a few extra pieces of gear in order to make touring a bit smoother for us. Another portion of the prize would be dedicated to a targeted digital marketing campaign to push our new music to acoustic and alternative rock fans worldwide. The last portion of our winnings would be going a charity or cause to help those in need. Geomousik is all about having a positive impact everywhere and anywhere we can. If we are fortunate enough to win the Next Music Star, we want to make sure we are giving back along the way.
