About Elizabeth Sigette
I put my guitar down for 15 years, but the music never left me. At 38, I came back with songs born from faith, motherhood, recovery, and second chances. I’m not just chasing a dream—I’m finally living it. God gave me a gift to help others with music.

What makes you the Next Music Star?
I put my guitar down for 15 years. During those years, I lived through seasons I never imagined I would survive. My struggle with alcohol nearly cost me my marriage and my family. But I found recovery, found my way back to God, and somehow found my way back to music too. At 38, I picked up my guitar again, and the songs came pouring out. Now I write from a place of hard-won grace, blending country, folk, rock and pop with stories about faith, motherhood, family, recovery and second chances. I’m not trying to be an artist who simply sounds good. I want to be an artist who makes people feel something. I want someone to hear my music and think, “I’m not alone.” I almost lost everything. Instead, I found my family, my faith, and a part of myself I thought was gone forever. Now I have a voice, and I’m ready to use it.
What do you love about music and performing?
I love that music can take the hardest parts of our lives and turn them into something beautiful. For me, that is personal. There was a time when alcohol was taking me further and further away from the people I loved, and I came dangerously close to losing my marriage and my family. Recovery changed my life. Finding my faith changed my life. And finding music again gave me a way to tell that story. Now when I perform, I’m not just singing songs...I’m sharing pieces of a life I almost lost. After 15 years away, getting back onstage at 38 has been both terrifying and exhilarating. But there’s something incredible about standing in front of strangers with nothing but my voice, my guitar and a story that is true. I love the moment a song stops being mine and becomes someone else’s. If something I’ve lived through can make another person feel understood, hopeful or brave enough to keep going, that’s why I perform.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
Carrie Underwood is one of my biggest inspirations because she refuses to be put in one box. I love how she blends country, rock, pop and faith, and the power, emotion and personality she brings to her voice. That freedom to cross genres is something I want in my own music. John Mayer and Dave Matthews are huge influences on me as a songwriter. I admire their storytelling, musicianship and ability to take something personal and make it feel universal. My dream collaborations would be with Carrie Underwood, John Mayer and Dave Matthews. I’d love to combine their incredible musicality with my own voice and stories—music rooted in country and acoustic songwriting, but willing to move into rock and pop, with faith and real-life experiences at the heart of it. My songs come from a life that has had some very dark chapters. I’d love to collaborate with artists who know how to turn real life into something people can feel.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
I’d turn $10,000 into music, and into a bigger opportunity to share the stories that brought me back to it. I’m already building this career independently: writing my own songs, recording, performing and learning the music business as I go. I would use the prize to finish producing my EP, create professional music videos and content, invest in promotion, and get my music in front of more listeners. After, my goal is to create a complete album. But there’s something deeper behind that investment. I almost lost my marriage and my family to alcohol. Recovery gave me my life back, and finding music again gave me a way to turn that experience into something meaningful. I want to make music for the person who feels like they’ve messed up too badly, waited too long, or lost too much to start again. Fifteen years after putting my guitar down, I finally picked it back up. I don’t want to stop now.
