About Dyño

Making the best pop music coming out of Orange County with the specific polish, brand and attitude needed to push the boundaries of pop music. My EP "KiiS" was based on this very radio station which I grew up on. 714 forever.

What makes you the Next Music Star?

Since my first demo on in 2018, I have refined my sound that has seamlessly blended my unique style of music with my irresistible pop style. I bring both the music and brand identity ready to expand beyond the audio space. My debut EP "KiiS" was actually made in an homage to this very station which makes this moment feel like pure serendipity.

What do you love about music and performing?

My dad is a painter who pushed me into music lessons early on in my childhood and refined my stage presence growing up in church. Era defining releases like Kali Uchis’ "Drunken Babble", Grimes' "Visions", and the "Steve Lacy's Demo" EP inspired and completely shifted my mindset on what success in music could look like. In my last year of uni, I decided that I wanted to focus on what I really wanted to with my life and had been right in front of me all along. Music has an intrinsic way of pulling the raw emotion out of people and is one of only things that has the ability of getting a whole room onto the same wavelength. I'm a natural performer and entertainer so the stage is honestly where I feel most comfortable. As a high school biology and physics teacher by day, commanding an audience is second nature to me which is the reason I love doing crowd work at my shows.

Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?

When it comes to dream collaborations and inspirations, I would love to work with the artists I grew up with and have pushed the boundaries of pop music like: Gwen Stefani and PinkPantheress. I would love to work with other musical innovators like Lana Del Rey, Remi Wolf, M.I.A., and Rusowsky. I really love their unique visions of world building that they bring to their music which is where I hope to take my own sound.

What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?

Winning the $10,000 prize would be amazing, but for me, the real value of winning this competition is the platform and networking opportunities that come with it. If I am able to connect with an audience at this scale it would create a huge foundation for me. I would use the money to elevate my music; investing in better mixing and mastering as well as getting actual studio time and not have to record from my bedroom. I'd also use it to produce promotional content to be able to turn this momentum into a sustainable career in music, which has always been the dream.
