What makes you the Next Music Star?
I’m DJ CynBad, a DJ, musician, producer, and creator, and Micky Mann is an artist, entrepreneur, and industry connector. Together, we’re building our presence in the music industry through the Arizona Top 40 Playlist, WeAreArizonaFirst.com, BadBarbie Productions and Famous Factory Network. We bring different strengths to the table, combining music creation, artistry, industry experience, and the ability to build connections and opportunities. We’re not just talking about making it in the music industry; we’re actively building our own platform, supporting artists, and growing Arizona’s music scene. What makes us stand out is that we bring both the creative talent and the business mindset to turn our vision into reality. We’re ready to bring that experience, ambition, and drive to Next Music Star and prove what we can accomplish together.
What do you love about music and performing?
We love that music brings people together, creates unforgettable experiences, and gives us a way to express ourselves. As DJ CynBad, I love producing, creating my own sound, and turning ideas into music people can connect with. I love the energy of performing and seeing how music moves a crowd. For Micky, music is a lifestyle. Coming from a musically inclined family, it has always been part of who he is. He loves creating experiences and showcasing who you are as an artist, showing people that through music and creativity, you can be anything you want to be. He expresses that through his work. Together, we see music as more than entertainment. It’s a way to inspire, connect, and create something meaningful.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
We grew up in the ’90s, so our musical influences come from multiple generations and genres. We appreciate everything from the classics that shaped music to the artists who changed the culture in hip-hop, R&B, rock, reggae, and pop. Micky was inspired by artists like Busta Rhymes, Tupac, DMX, and 50 Cent, not just for their music but for their individuality and visual style. His dream collaborations include Drake, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Loe Shimmy and Taylor Swift. As DJ CynBad, growing up playing instruments and exploring so many different sounds helped shape me as a producer. My dream collaborations are Too $hort, E-40, Doechii, Missy Elliott, Erykah Badu, Gwen Stefani, Metallica, Korn, Slipknot. We love the history of music and how every era builds on the one before it, and we want to bring that same creativity and originality into what we create.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
We would use the $10,000 to invest in the vision Micky Mann and I are building together. We’ve put our time, creativity, and resources into creating opportunities, connecting artists, and building something of our own in Arizona’s music scene. We would invest in creating new music and professional content together, promoting our work, expanding the reach of the Arizona Top 40 Playlist, and growing WeAreArizonaFirst.com, BADBARBiE Productions, and Famous Factory Network. Our goal is bigger than our own careers. We want to open doors for other artists, help good music reach the people who need to hear it, and build something that lasts beyond us. This prize would help us turn the vision we’ve been working toward into a bigger reality.
