What makes you the Next Music Star?
I had always felt like I struggled to fit in anywhere until I found music, It really taught me things about myself I didn’t know before and how creative I could actually be. Around my early 20’s I had found my community of artists in my hometown, where we created, collaborated, toured and shared so many beautiful memories of performing together. Although language was sometimes a barrier music made me connect with so many people even if it was just singing, I hope to continue to find that in the future and bridge that home that started with the one I want to create.
What do you love about music and performing?
Writing and performing music just feels right to me, when I didn't have an outlet and found a community of artists and musicians everything clicked, we would write about almost anything, spent days and nights recording and just leaving it all out there is so fulfilling, learning how to play around with melodies and seeing how each instrument adds different elements or feeling to my songs was beautiful. I was so deeply involved that with my producer we would find gigs/events, plan for everything, decide a setlist and practice for hours and give our hearts out at the stage, having people so engaged or even singing along or even asking about your music is so fulfilling.
Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?
I listen to a lot of different artists but some of my biggest inspirations and who I could only dream about collaborating with are Adele, SYML, Lexie Liu, RY X, NMIXX, dodie and the list could go on and on.
What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?
I would like to be able to fund my dream of becoming an artist, this would be a great beginning since funding is always the hardest part but, that means I would be able to stay and continue the work that was started all that time ago in my hometown.
