What makes you the Next Music Star?

I’ve spent more than 30 years playing guitar and about 25 years writing songs. Now I’m taking that music to the streets of San Francisco, building a full sound with my Les Paul and looper and turning sidewalks into mini-concerts. I bring real experience, an original voice, and the nerve to keep showing up before anyone has handed me a stage. I’m chasing a record deal in public, one performance and one new listener at a time. Next Music Star could help bring my original music to a much bigger audience.

What do you love about music and performing?

I love that music can turn a stranger into part of the moment. When I’m playing on the street, people can be on their way somewhere and then stop, listen, smile, sing along, or stay for a little concert. That connection is why I keep doing this. Performing lets me put everything I feel into the guitar and share it right there with people, without needing a perfect stage or a big production.

Who are your biggest music inspirations and dream collaborators?

Jimi Hendrix inspires me with his freedom and fearless guitar sound. Slash and Joe Perry are huge inspirations too—they each have a voice you can recognize immediately. My dream would be to trade guitar parts with Slash or Joe Perry on a gritty rock song, and I’d love to share a stage with Axl Rose. I want to collaborate with artists who bring their own fire and make each other play bigger.

What would you do with the $10,000 Grand Prize?

I’d use the prize to move my music forward in a lasting way: record and release my original songs professionally, build a reliable lighter battery-powered rig so I can perform and film in more places, and cover the practical costs of keeping the music journey moving. The goal would be to turn one opportunity into more songs, more performances, and a bigger audience.
