About Maurice the Music

Raised in foster care, group homes, and juvenile detention, country music sensation Maurice turned pain into power with music in his blood and grit in his soul. A PBS Kids Talent Search winner and American Idol alum, he’s spent the last 5 years street performing daily in New Orleans. Now, the self-taught country artist—who plays trombone, guitar, piano, and produces all his own songs—is set to release his debut EP. This is the sound of survival.
