About Katja Rieckermann band

I’m a saxophonist based in LA. I have been writing my own music for years and have performed many times with my band at the Baked Potato jazz club and Herb Alpert’s Vibrato grill jazz. My music is a mixture of soul, funk and groovy jazz. I also have experience performing in front of big crowds because I toured as a side man for Rod Stewart for 14 years.

  • What do you love about music and performing? I have performed besides big named stars for many years but I am the happiest when I am performing my own music with my awesome band.
  • What makes you the Next Music Star? As a saxophonist I am very versatile. I have written and released music in different genres for example soul, funk, jazz, dance, tropical house, house deep house. I have experience in performing on big stages but I also love playing in smaller venues. I feel like I am an accomplished instrumentalist with a great stage presence and I surround myself with incredible musicians.
